The Innovation Pavilion by Sweden – Global Pharma Consulting raises visibility of Swedish Life Science at Sweden’s only pavilion at Arab Health 2019

For the third year in a row, Swedish thought leaders, innovators and organisations are widely represented in Sweden’s country pavilion at Arab Health. Speaking at the inauguration of The Innovation Pavilion by Sweden, VIPs and guests of honor from the Swedish Ministry of Health and regional ambassadors reiterated Sweden’s global role in the development of Life Science and its overall contribution to skills and product development in the MENA region’s dynamic and progressive healthcare infrastructure.

Among the guests of honor was Mr Niclas Jacobson, Deputy Director-General & Head of the Division for European Union & International Affairs, Swedish Ministry of Health & Social Affairs who touched on the importance of development and trade, and how the strong ties between the public and private sector have contributed to Sweden having one of the most respected Life Science and healthcare systems in the world.

H.E Mr Henrik Landerholm, Swedish Ambassador to the UAE, commented on Sweden’s ranking as the third most innovative nation in the world according to the 2018 Global Innovation Index (GII), reinforcing the greater vision of the pavilion which is to showcase Sweden’s vast expertise in Life Science and how this export-ready sector can practically adapt and collaborate in GCC countries.

Further demonstrating this vision, the inauguration ceremony included the signing of a MoU between the Swecare Foundation and H.E Dr Maryam Matar, Founder and Chairman of UAE Genetic Diseases Association. Both organisations have committed to a long-term programme of skills development and collaboration in the field of rare diseases and other areas of interest.

Her Excellency, Ms Ewa Polano, Ambassador of Sweden to the State of Qatar, also urged participants in The Innovation Pavilion by Sweden to consistently network and build international trade relationships in a practical way, and that MENA business strategies must be consistent. Ms Ewa Bjorling, Sweden’s former Minister of Trade, expressed the importance of partnering with unique experts such as Global Pharma Consulting who have the knowledge and experience to develop market entry strategies that are relevant to the local MENA business landscape.

There are 31 Swedish participants within this year’s Swedish pavilion from a number of fields including AI, Medtech, Pharmaceuticals, E-health, diagnostics, Quality Registries, skin-friendly jewellery, hospital management, infection prevention and education.

The 2019 Innovation Pavilion by Sweden and its networking opportunities are also aligned to the Expo 2020 Swedish Committee. As a Committee sponsor, Global Pharma Consulting is already actively involved in ensuring Swedish Life Science remains highly visible during this mega event next year.

“Life science is at a pivotal point and sectoral development is happening faster than ever before as the next industrial revolution unfolds before us. The Innovation Pavilion by Sweden is all about using our specialist skills to put the right people in the right room together, at the right time. Because we are the only Swedish pavilion at Arab Health this year, we have an important role to play in terms of presenting Swedish excellence.

“Having such respected government authorities endorsing The Innovation Pavilion by Sweden once again is another real honor. The fact that our authorities are so actively engaged shows the region just how committed Sweden is to innovation and trade,” concludes Hassoon.

Find, meet, network, collaborate and socialize with Global Pharma Consulting and the participants in Za’beel Hall 1, Z1G50, at Arab Health, 28 -31 January 2019.
