The Global Pharma Consulting story

The Global Pharma Consulting story started in 2008 when founder Paula Hassoon started to receive requests from companies in the Middle East, in particular Iraq, needing guidance and assistance to reach European manufacturers in the Life Science sector. At first this interest was mainly from pharmaceutical companies and for the next few years, Paula was able to consult to these companies while still holding down a full time job as a Scandinavian/Nordic Product Manager. By 2013, the level of interest from mainly Swedish companies wanting to enter the MENA region had grown substantially and, while on maternity leave and considering her future career, Paula made the decision to focus solely on consultancy and her own business.

Paula’s business partner Raed Suhail, had always run his own businesses and has vast experience in imports and exports to and from MENA countries as well as Asia, Africa and Europe. Having access to his experience and skills gave Paula the grounding to really focus on finding the true niche in Life Science consulting. Having already had a formal and very successful career in the pharmaceutical sector in mainly sales and marketing, she was ready for the challenge of a new venture.

Projects, delegations and events over the years.

As the company grew, it changed from a Private to Limited company and the name changed to Global Pharma Consulting, capturing Paula’s vision and hopes for the venture. With new offices and an impressive new business model that evolved with its markets, Global Pharma Consulting quickly made its mark in the Life Science industry and even other consultancies started to take notice of what Global Pharma Consulting’s team was doing and why. Suddenly Global Pharma Consulting was at every networking event and trade show, gathering insight on behalf of its Nordic and MENA clients and consistently refining the business offerings according to specific client requirements.

Just three years later, Global Pharma Consulting now sits at the forefront of innovation in Life Science consulting and is widely respected by key players and thought leaders in Sweden and the Gulf countries. Despite having achieved so much in such a short time, there is no slowing down. Global Pharma Consulting plans to grow the business footprint in both the current regions as well as bringing in new services and events / networking concepts. Watch this space!
